Museum Collectie ’40-‘45, Beekbergen

What began as a boy's dream will eventually evolve into a local historical museum. In 2000, the museum was housed in an old barn without heating. This immediately posed a problem, as everything had to be removed in the autumn and reassembled in the spring.

After ten years, an opportunity arose to establish the museum in a permanent space. This ensured the safety of the objects and stories, allowing the museum to be visited year-round. Over the years, the museum has received many local items, and the stories from the area have been shared. This helps give a face to the history of Apeldoorn and, in turn, the Veluwe.

The stories are enthusiastically told by René and Germa Broere. A visit to the museum in Beekbergen takes you back to the eventful years on the Veluwe when resistance and oppression ultimately led to liberation on April 17, 1945.

Driven by the belief that it is important to commemorate the past, admission is free. A voluntary contribution is appreciated. Additionally, Collectie '40-'45 offers a historical tour of the Veluwe, but please note that there are associated costs for this.
