"Heidehof Cemetery is a municipal burial ground situated along Engelanderholt in the Dutch town of Ugchelen, which falls under the jurisdiction of Apeldoorn municipality. This cemetery covers an area of 21.26 hectares and features an irregular layout. It comprises two distinct sections. The older portion was established in 1940 and has a park-like ambiance with meandering pathways. In contrast, the later expansion adopts a more organized layout with straight paths and plots. Its entrance is marked by a pair of metal gates flanked by brick pillars, along with two smaller gateways. Leading from this entrance is a pathway that guides visitors to the center of the original section, where a crematorium is situated. The cemetery is enclosed by a metal wire fence and a boundary of hedges or shrubs."
The Commonwealth plot was established in 1942 to inter Allied casualties, with some of the initial burials later relocated to different cemeteries.
In this location, there are a total of 57 Commonwealth casualties from the 1939-1945 war.
These casualties represent the following countries: United Kingdom 51, Canada 3, Australia 2, New Zealand 1.
