Oorlogs- en verzetsmuseum: “De bewogen jaren 1939-1950”, Hooge Mierde

The Oorlogs- en verzetsmuseum: “De bewogen jaren 1939-1950” (War and Resistance Museum: "The Turbulent Years 1939-1950") features a diverse and extensive collection of artifacts from World War II and the Dutch East Indies. The exhibited items relate to both the military and civilian history of that period.

An attempt is made to "sketch a route" through World War II in Europe and Asia, including the police actions in our former Dutch East Indies. There is a permanent exhibition in the museum that outlines the progression over the years. This display is regularly updated. As a visitor, you will receive a guide with additional information that you can use while walking through the museum, past the showcases.

Thematic exhibitions provide extra attention to specific periods and display material from the museum's storage. For children, there are photo scavenger hunts that make the visit especially interesting for them.

The museum is easily accessible. Everything is displayed on the ground floor and wheelchair accessible, which is, of course, very important.

There are at least two people present daily who can provide you with extra information and guidance through the museum. If you come with a group and notify us in advance, we can arrange additional assistance. If you have any questions, you can always email, call, or simply drop by the museum.
