Venray War Cemetery

Venray War Cemetery is a military cemetery located on Hoenderstraat in Venray. The cemetery was inaugurated on December 30, 1946.

This burial ground holds the graves of 692 soldiers who died between October 1944 and March 1945. Most of them were killed in the Venray area during the Battle of Overloon, which was part of Operation Aintree.

The Allied servicemen buried here have the following nationalities:

United Kingdom: 660
Canada: 22
New Zealand: 5
Australia: 4
Poland: 1

A war correspondent is also buried there.

The cemetery is maintained by the Commonwealth War Graves Commission.
