The plaque serves as a remembrance of Harm Drost. At the age of 20, Drost was aboard the inland vessel "De Tijd" (The Time) with his parents, brother, and sister, making their way from Akkrum to Groningen. Shortly after crossing the bridge, an aircraft unexpectedly emerged and opened fire on the ship. Drost, positioned on the rear deck, was struck in the side and tragically succumbed to his injuries right there.
