Indisch Herinneringscentrum, Den haag

The Dutch East Indies Remembrance Center (IHC) is one of the four national remembrance centers dedicated to World War II. Its mission is to preserve the memories of events before, during, and after World War II in the Dutch East Indies and their lasting impact for a wide and diverse audience.

In the autumn of 2017, the IHC relocated to a new site in The Hague. At this new location, the IHC is actively developing a permanent exhibition, a Repatriation Knowledge Center, educational projects, and a variety of programs. These initiatives revolve around themes linked to the shared history of the Netherlands and Indonesia, providing insights into both historical and contemporary developments.

In collaboration with visitors, the Indo-Dutch community, and stakeholders from society and academia, the IHC embodies its motto: 'Preserving the Dutch East Indies Memory for the Future.'
