Gemeentelijke Begraafplaats, Alkmaar

Alkmaar, situated within the commune of Alkmaar, is located 37 kilometers north-northwest of Amsterdam and 32 kilometers north of Haarlem. You can find the cemetery on the southwestern edge of the town along Westerweg. Look for the prominent large white entrance, which is directly across from the junction with Princes Julianalaan.

Within the cemetery, the Commonwealth war graves are centrally located. To reach them, simply follow the main pathway, then veer left. You'll discover the graves approximately 150 meters along this path, nestled beneath a cluster of trees.

Within Alkmaar General Cemetery, you will find three individuals buried from the Commonwealth who served during the Second World War. Among them, two were airmen, and the third was a sailor.

His headstone bears the inscription "Ever Thought Of With Loving & Proud Memories By Mum, Jerry, Rena, Ian & Ronnie"

His headstone bears the inscription "Sweetly Shall Each Gladdened Heart Enjoy Eternal Rest"
