Monument 1940-1945, Wagenborgen

The 'Monument 1940-1945' in Wagenborgen (municipality of Eemsdelta) was established in memory of 27 Canadian soldiers and thirteen fellow citizens who lost their lives during World War II due to acts of war, including the Jewish sisters Betje and Sinette Stoppelman. The monument also commemorates two Dutch soldiers who died during the colonial war in Indonesia in the former Dutch East Indies.
