The Museum Oorlog in de Peel (War in the Peel) is a private museum located in Melderslo, The Netherlands.
The collection was established by Edie Pouwels. His grandfather helped a deserting German soldier with civilian clothing and received the German equipment as a reward. After the liberation, the equipment of British soldiers was added. People in the surrounding area also contributed many items. The museum was opened in 2000.
Items also came from Zwarte Plak, originating from British and American pilots who were in hiding there.
The museum focuses not so much on the entire history of World War II but rather on the events that took place locally, specifically in the Peel region.
The collection of the Oorlog in de Peel (War in the Peel) foundation consists of everyday objects and uniforms from the war period starting from May 1940, the German occupation, and the liberation by the English and American armies. There are also items on display from war volunteers from the Dutch East Indies.
