A Secret (2007)

In 1953, a perceptive French boy learns that his family has Jewish roots from a neighbor. François Grimbert goes on to become a physician, and over time, he unravels the concealed layers of his family's history. He was raised as a Catholic by parents who passed as "Aryan" in appearance. His determined father worked to suppress what he saw as stereotypical Jewish traits in his son, all the while guarding the family's numerous secrets. Many of their relatives had fought in World War II and were later captured by the Gestapo, sent to labor and death camps. This story is based on actual events.
