Run Silent Run Deep (1958)

After a year of desk duty, the captain of a World War II submarine, whose previous vessel was sunk by a Japanese destroyer, is granted the opportunity to command another sub. Driven by an unwavering desire for revenge against the very destroyer that had taken his previous ship, he inadvertently exposes his new crew to unnecessary risks.
