Pikkusisar (1999)

After losing her husband in the Finnish Winter War, Katri decides to volunteer at a military hospital in Helsinki during the Continuation War. There, she forms a connection with a patient, a fellow countryman who recites poetry and is about to be discharged. Meanwhile, she also rekindles a romance with an old school friend, Eero, who goes to great lengths, even going AWOL, to be with her. As the war rages on, Katri finds herself facing tough choices about her future.
