Set against the backdrop of 1943 during WWII, Mauthausen camp houses a grim congregation of inmates, including Spanish Civil War veterans exiled by Franco to serve the Third Reich. Amid unrelenting Nazi brutality and harsh Kapo rule, Francesc Boix, a young photographer, strives to survive under the wing of Paul Ricken, the camp's overseer. As Boix captures haunting images and documents the dead, he stumbles upon news of the Soviet victory at Stalingrad, fearing that impending defeat will erase evidence of the camp's atrocities.
Determined to safeguard damning photographs of SS officers, Boix fights to outsmart Ricken and Ziereis, the prison's authorities. After an initial escape plan fails, Boix concocts a new strategy. With time running out and orders to destroy everything, he races to secure the photos and survive to reveal the truth to the world.
