During World War II, John Martin is a member of an American spy team assigned the mission of sabotaging the French railway system. After successfully demolishing a crucial tunnel, he rushes back to rescue Ellen, who sternly instructs him, "Never come back for me again." Later, he faces a difficult decision: whether to honor her wishes or defy them to save her once more.
