Kelly's Heroes (1970)

Amid World War II, German Colonel Dankhopf (David Hurst) is taken prisoner by the Americans. However, an artillery barrage disrupts their plans before he can be interrogated. seizing the opportunity, Lieutenant Kelly (Clint Eastwood) manages to make contact with the Colonel, intoxicates him, and gleans crucial information: a secret mission involves transporting sixteen million dollars worth of gold to a base in France. Motivated to seize the gold, Kelly concocts a plan for himself and a select group of soldiers to infiltrate enemy territory and abscond with the precious bullion.
