On January 20, 1942, a group of high-ranking representatives from the German Nazi regime gathered in a picturesque villa located on the shores of Lake Wannsee in southwest Berlin. This meeting has since become infamous as the Wannsee Conference, due to its profound significance, dire implications, and far-reaching consequences. It stands as one of the most harrowing conferences in human history. Present at this gathering were 15 influential figures from the SS, NSDAP, and ministerial bureaucracy. They had been invited by Reinhard Heydrich, the head of the Security Police and SD, under the guise of a "meeting followed by breakfast."
The exclusive focus of this approximately 90-minute discussion was what the National Socialists referred to as the "Final Solution to the Jewish Question." This term encapsulated the meticulously planned bureaucratic organization of the systematic mass murder of millions of Jews from across Europe. To commemorate the 80th anniversary of this historic event, a fictionalized TV film has been created based on the original minutes of the meeting, recorded by Adolf Eichmann at that time.
