German forces invade a village in Byelorussia, prompting young Florya to defy his family's wishes and flee into the forest to join the exhausted Resistance fighters. Amidst his journey, he encounters Glasha, a girl who accompanies him back to the village. However, the village is in ruins upon their return, with Florya discovering his family and fellow villagers massacred. As the brutal aftermath of war unfolds, his struggle for survival transforms into a nightmarish ordeal, a relentless internal conflict between despair and hope.
