In the early spring of 1942, Nazi Germany launched its invasion of the Soviet Union. Deep within the Russian forests, a group of partisans fought for their survival during the harsh winter. With very limited resources, Gregory, known as "The Fly," and a few others from their impoverished village joined forces with several members of the Red Army. Their struggle for survival extended not only to the men but also to the women, children, and the elderly. Returning to their village was not an option, as it was infested with SS troops and Latvian police. Their only refuge lay in the dense woods. In this challenging environment, Gregory found companionship with Dasha and Alena, who had been isolated from the world. Dasha, burdened by a past marked by rule-breaking, withdrew into herself, while her husband, whom she once loved, had been labeled a traitor.
