While our knowledge of World War II is primarily shaped by black-and-white visuals, this documentary offers a fresh perspective. It presents a captivating montage of colorized imagery from that era, captured on 8mm and 16mm film. This footage originates from diverse sources: private collectors, soldiers, tourists, state institutions, and even shots taken by Hitler's personal pilot, as well as images by Eva Braun, Hitler's companion. Many of these visuals were recently unearthed, with some hidden for over four decades. Director Michael Kloft has skillfully remastered and curated these images into a cohesive narrative.
