Sahara (1943)

Following a significant battle in June 1942, an American tank crew, one of the few integrated into the British 8th Army, receives orders to retreat south into the Sahara desert, the only viable direction available. Led by Sgt. Joe Gunn and accompanied by the two surviving members of their crew, they embark on this journey, gradually assembling a diverse group of British and other Allied soldiers along the way. Remarkably, they also take in an Italian and a German POW. Their most pressing challenge is the scarcity of water, but after discovering a well, they encounter advancing Nazis who are also desperate for water. Instead of fleeing, they opt to stand their ground and confront the battalion-sized enemy force.
