Amersfoort (Oud Leusden) General Cemetery, locally known as 'Rusthof,' is the final resting place for over 400 individuals who lost their lives during the First and Second World Wars.
Within the Commonwealth section, you'll find the graves of 1 soldier and 143 airmen from the UK, along with 60 Canadian airmen, 11 Australian airmen, 13 New Zealand airmen, and 6 Polish airmen, totaling 234 burials, including 12 unidentified. Many of them perished while on missions to or from bombing raids over Germany.
In addition to these, the cemetery also holds war graves of individuals from various nationalities, including Czechoslovak, Dutch, Greek, Hungarian, Italian, Portuguese, Romanian, Russian, and Yugoslav origins.
