During World War II, a skilled group of American soldiers is dispatched to Europe with the mission to eliminate Nazis. These soldiers have gained such a reputation for their effectiveness that the Germans dub them "The Basterds." Later, they collaborate with a British officer who aims to orchestrate the assassination of high-ranking German officers at the premiere of a movie glorifying a German soldier's deeds.
However, a complication arises during their rendezvous with their German actress contact, resulting in the death of all team members fluent in German. This setback forces their leader, Lt. Raine, to devise an alternative approach. Another twist emerges as the movie screening is moved to a smaller theater due to the film's protagonist taking a liking to the theater's owner. Unbeknownst to them, the owner is a Jewish woman whose family was tragically killed by a Nazi officer now responsible for security at the screening. Her personal vendetta drives her own hidden agenda.
