During World War II in the Netherlands, a young Jewish girl finds herself evading the clutches of the Nazis. When her hiding place is destroyed, she flees alongside a young sailor who rescues her. That very night, the Dutch resistance alerts her that the Germans are closing in on their hiding spot. Together with the sailor, they escape and embark on a journey to reach liberated areas. However, tragedy strikes when their boat falls into a German trap, resulting in the loss of all lives except for hers.
Rachel, now adopting the alias Ellis de Vries, aligns herself with the resistance. On a train smuggling weapons, she encounters Ludwig Muntze, a SS official. Their connection proves valuable when the resistance leader's son is captured. Rachel leverages their prior meeting to establish trust and infiltrates Muntze's office as a spy. As their relationship deepens, Muntze becomes enamored with her.
Yet, a betrayer within the resistance emerges, casting suspicion on Rachel. Caught between two sides, she's branded as the villain. With her love interest, Muntze, by her side, Rachel must navigate a perilous path to vindicate herself and uncover the true traitor within the resistance's ranks.
