Saving Private Ryan (1998)

The movie starts off with the Allied assault on Normandy's shores on June 6, 1944. Captain Miller and the members of the 2nd Ranger Battalion engage in a fierce struggle to secure the beachfront. Amidst the chaos of the invasion, two brothers meet their end in combat. Prior to this, a third brother had already lost his life in New Guinea. On the same fateful day, their mother is on the verge of receiving telegrams bearing news of their graves. Seizing an opportunity to provide her with some solace, United States Army Chief of Staff, George C. Marshall, learns of a fourth brother, Private James Ryan, who has gone missing somewhere in France. In a bid to reunite him with his mother, Marshall dispatches Captain Miller and a team of seven others from the 2nd Ranger Battalion to locate and bring back Private Ryan.
